Solo EP: Eddie Fernandez
Eddie Fernandez is currently working on his first studio solo EP. This album is set to include a couple brand new songs, as well as some re-imagined versions of songs he wrote for "The West Front." "The goal on this album is to make each song sound the best that it can, focusing more on song structure, tempo, rhythm, and meaningful lyrics that people can relate to. I'm really pushing and challenging myself to become better, and work with new musicians who bring new tastes to the table." -Eddie Fernandez
Some of the musicians contributing to this album include: Drummer Shawn Zorn (Twin Forks/ Dashboard Confessional), Bassist Gerry Carboy (David Sancious, Kevin Eubanks), Saxophonist/ Keyboardist Michael Ghegan (Project 123go, Justin Timberlake, Colin Hay), Violinist Kurt Baumer (Lonestar), and vocalist Johnny Lesko.
The EP is set to include at least (5) tracks.
The West Front: From garage band to headliners
Guitarist Eddie Fernandez and bassist Tony Nemati had discussions about music and more during their high school days. But according to Fernandez, they had “never intended on establishing themselves.”
However, like many others before them, the pair added a drummer and performed locally until the call of higher education came beckoning. Four years later, Fernandez (who had been penning material since high school) was looking to do what he termed as “letting some stuff out” to the masses. Armed with original material, he convinced his younger brother Nick Fernandez to form a band as an outlet for their creativity. A brief search landed drummer Chris Skolsky and, circa 2001, The West Front was born.

95.9 the WRAT Jersey Rock Video of the Week: "Only the Hero"
The West Front have a rich, upbeat sound that gels perfectly with their video for "Only The Hero". It was shot by Damian Dazervin and produced by Eddie Fernandez. It's a great video with a classic MTV feel that's definitely a cut above what you normally find on YouTube.
It was shot in Point Pleasant and Asbury Park, on rooftops, along the street and at the beach. While actors play out the story, the video cuts back to shots of the band performing on a rooftop overlooking Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park. It looks awesome. When you take into consideration the number of different shots in this video, it clearly took a lot of work to produce. That work paid off beautifully.
